family dinner featuring a keynote speaker.
The conference portion will span the
following day. During the morning session,
attendees will get an update from Alliance
officials and hear presentations from
guest speakers on technical and regulatory
topics. The afternoon session will combine
similar presentations with award ceremonies, Fakharzadeh describes. He says
the conference will conclude with a membership meeting, board elections, and the
passing of the gavel from Howard to incoming Chairman Rich Frommer, who
is president and chief executive officer
of Great Western Oil & Gas Co.
On Friday, Aug. 4, interested attendees
can play golf and eat lunch at the Red
Sky Golf Club. Colorado AvidGolfer
points out that the club's courses frequently
appear on top 100 lists in national magazines and praises Red Sky for invariably
delivering "solicitous service, tight organization, creative cuisine, and faultless
course conditions," as well as views that
never get old.
During the conference, award-winning
photographer Thomas Cooper will be on
site with a special conference rate to update
Alliance members' headshots, the group
notes. Attendees can have their photos
taken with a Colorado mountain backdrop
or choose a studio background on site. "A
high-quality headshot can be a great way
to spruce up social media profiles, company
websites and announcements and author
bios in conference brochures and trade
journals," Fakharzadeh suggests.

Foothills Explorations Inc.
To Buy Mancos Acreage

DENVER-Foothills Exploration Inc.
announces it has entered into a purchase
and sales agreement with an undisclosed
seller for 67,330 gross (49,600 net) acres
in the Uinta-Piceance Basin that are 100
percent held by production.
According to Foothills, the deal includes
85 total wells, with 31 actively producing
and the remainder shut in. The 100 percent
working interest includes operating and
nonoperating interests, with 66 wells to
be operated by the company. It says the
transaction represents a significant resource
opportunity in the Mancos Shale, with a
developing horizontal play.
Foothills adds it has identified several
shut-in wells to bring back into production
within 90 days of completing the acquisition.
In addition, it notes the transaction provides
it with a solid footprint in the UintaPiceance Basin, with several potential bolton acquisitions in the immediate area. r

for reliability. Five wiping surfaces
provide a firm wiping action all the way to bottom. The top plug has a
solid non-metalic core. It is completely encased in rubber to prevent
pumpout and insure separation of slurry and drilling fluid at the bottom
of the casing. The core of the bottom plug is an aluminum alloy
cylinder with a diaphragm designed to allow the plug to be pumped
ahead of the cement slurry and rupture at touchdown on the float

The plugs were originally designed for the large diameter casing used on
our Gulf Coast and have been in use for over 20 years. The assembly
consists of three heavy rubber cups separated by two aluminum alloy
bodies, three aluminum alloy discs. The plugs are assembled with
aluminum alloy bolts. The design provides six wiping surfaces. The
strength of these plugs permits use of conventional cementing methods
in deep holes. The bottom plugs have a diaphragm designed to allow the
plug to be pumped ahead of the cement slurry and rupture at touchdown
on the float equipment.

Top and bottom plugs are available in sizes: 16", 18 5⁄8", and 20"
