AFGlobal Acquires Maker Of Automation Systems
HOUSTON-AFGlobal Corp. announces it has acquired Advanced Measurement Inc. (AMI), a provider of automation, controls and data management
systems, from Key Energy Services.
AFGlobal says the acquisition enhances
its drilling, completion and production
smart technology. "AMI's offerings will
help broaden our reach as an OEM,"
comments Curtis Samford, AFGlobal
president and chief executive officer.
"This strategic technology addition will
serve as an important vehicle for us to
develop more advanced control and data
management offerings, enhancing our

Forum Buys Company Behind ESP Protectors

HOUSTON-Forum Energy Technologies Inc. reports it has acquired Multilift
from Pelican Energy Partners. Multilift
manufactures the patented SandGuard™
and the Cyclone™ completion tools. According to Forum, these tools extend
electric submersible pumps' useful life
by protecting them against falling sand
and other solids after shutdown.

NextDecade Signs MOU
With Irish LNG Terminal

THE WOODLANDS, TX.-NextDecade
LLC, a liquefied natural gas company focused on LNG export projects in Texas,
announces it has signed a memorandum
of understanding with Port of Cork Co. to
advance a joint business development opportunity in Ireland for a new floating
storage and regasification unit and associated
LNG import terminal infrastructure.
Under the MOU, the potential Port of
Cork development would receive LNG from
NextDecade's planned Rio Grande LNG
project in South Texas. The development
would provide competitively priced energy
solutions to Ireland and its regional partners
under long-term contracts, NextDecade says,
adding that this would increase and diversify
Ireland's natural gas supply.
According to NextDecade, the Rio
Grande project is optimally located close
to associated and stranded gas resources
in the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford
Shale. The company says the Port of
Cork facility could import 3 million tons
per annum of LNG (roughly equivalent
to 395 million cubic feet of natural gas a
day) from Rio Grande.

Halliburton, Sensor Expert
Ally To Monitor Reservoirs

HOUSTON-Halliburton has partnered
with GroundMetrics, a San Diego-based
developer of electromagnetic sensor systems, to deliver full-field reservoir characterization and monitoring services.
The companies say the collaboration
combines GroundMetrics' electromagnetic
and resistivity sensing capabilities, which
help determine the types of fluid present
in reservoir rocks, with Halliburton's expertise in logging, petrophysics and earth
modeling. These skill sets will be used to
generate 3-D saturation models that integrate
with other reservoir diagnostics and management workflows to reduce subsurface
uncertainties, the companies continue.
The capabilities are especially beneficial
in mature fields and unconventional reservoirs, where data from across the field
help operators monitor fluid flow, optimize
horizontal paths, and accurately assess
hydrocarbon pay zones, the companies
say. They add that the technology helps
identify injection patterns in water, steam,
chemical and carbon dioxide floods.

Antelope, Centergenics Collaborate On Collar

HOUSTON-Antelope Oil Tool, which
produces casing running and cementing
equipment, and Centergenics, an oilfield technology engineering company,
announce a first-generation stop collar
for the CentraMax® CT product line.
The CentraMax Quick-Lock Stop
Collar© from Centergenics will be used
with Antelope's On-The-Pipe-Solutions™
CentraMax CT centralizers, the companies say. The product offers robust performance, they report, with a quick and
simple installation method, and holding
forces greater than 150,000 pounds.
"We were looking to make our OnThe-Pipe-Solutions centralizers more
efficient for our customers, allowing
for centralizer installations in customers'
pipe yards or on location at the rig," de-

"Centergenics has a long history of collaborating with in-house engineering
teams to develop custom-fit solutions."
The Quick-Lock Stop Collar can be
installed anywhere on the casing, at any
stocking location. It is installed by sliding
it on to the casing with the centralizer,
and removing the shipping screws once
the stop location is reached, Antelope
says. The stop collar comes in uni- and
bidirectional versions.
