follow. Panel participants include Lynn
Helms, director of the North Dakota
Department of Mineral Resources, and
Chris Wright, chief executive officer of
Liberty Oilfield Services, Ness says.
According to Ness, at 11:15 a.m.,
Stephen Moore, chief economist with
The Heritage Foundation, will provide
the keynote address on how the American
energy renaissance will lead to U.S.
energy dominance by 2020. A contributor
to the Wall Street Journal and Fox News,
Moore is a senior adviser to President
Trump and a member of the Trump Economic Council. His work at the Heritage
Foundation focuses on budget, fiscal and
monetary policy.
Lunch will include presentations of
new awards that include the NDPC Excellence in Safety Award, the NPDC
Community Engagement Award, the
NDPC Environmental Stewardship Award
and the NDPC Distinguished Leadership
Award.
"We have instituted these four new
awards to lift up our members who are
making great things happen and encouraging others to follow suit and nominate
their companies and employees for these
awards," Ness says. "We think it going
to be a great addition."
EPA's Pruitt has been invited to speak
at 2 p.m., Ness says, and following a
break, Dave Glatt with the North Dakota
Department of Health will speak on "Regulators and Industry: the Collaborative
Model to Compliance."
A 3:35 panel discussion will focus
on "The Next Generation of Petroleum
Engineers-UND Petroleum Engineering,"
NDPC indicates. Jeff Kummer, president
of McKenzie Energy Partners and a
member of the University of North Dakota
Petroleum Engineering Industry Advisory
Council, will moderate. Panel members
will include Joel Brown, a 2014 UND
PE grad employed at McKenzie Energy
Partners; Max Johnson, a 2015 UND PE
grad employed at Hess Corp.; and expected 2018 grads Dylan Willoughby
and Tanner Hopfauf.
According to NDPC, the evening's
events include a social at 6 p.m., followed
by the chairman's banquet. At the banquet,

A 7 a.m. buffet breakfast is on tap to
begin events on Thursday, Sept. 28. After
opening remarks at 8 a.m., Dillé will
provide the NDPC year-in-review.
At 8:45 a.m., Helen Currie, senior
economist at ConocoPhillips, is scheduled
to provide an oil market outlook. Following a break, Justin Kringstad, executive

at 11:05 a.m., shortly after which Bruce
Hicks, assistant director of the oil and
gas division at the Department of Mineral
Resources, will provide an NDIC regulatory update.
Ness will provide closing remarks and
adjourn the meeting at 11:55 a.m.
