Opportunities Abound at LAGCOE 2017

LAFAYETTE, LA.-LAGCOE 2017
will be held Oct. 24-26 at the Cajundome
& Convention Center, and will feature
more than 350 exhibitors and dozens of
presentations. At LAGCOE 2017, attendees
meet hard-working professionals with real
hands-on experience that has increased
industry productivity throughout the world.
In 2015, LAGCOE welcomed exhibiting companies from across the globe
and more than 16,000 attendees from 40
countries around the world and 49 of the
50 U.S. states. This year's event features
a full agenda of presentations on innovative technological advances and business
issues covering both onshore and offshore
operations.
The opening presentation will take
place at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
Mark Mathis, the founder and president
of Clear Energy Alliance, will deliver an
opening talk titled "Fractured: How Language Deceives Us About Energy." Keynote
presentations to follow at 11:30 on Tuesday
morning include discussions of:
* The Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement's role in fostering
secure and reliable energy production
from the Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental
Shelf by Scott Angelle, director, BSEE,
U.S. Department of the Interior; and
* How oil and gas companies are
adapting to the new operating environment in the Gulf of Mexico by Ryan
Malone, projects general manager for
the Gulf at BP.
At 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25,
Randall Luthi, president of the National
Ocean Industries Association will present
a speech titled "The Change of Energy
in Washington."
On Thursday, Oct. 26, an "LNG CEO"
panel session begins at 11:45 a.m. Featuring panelists Thomas H. Hudson, president of G2 LNG, and Greg Vesey, president and chief executive officer of Magnolia LNG, the session will be moderated
by Chris John, president of the Louisiana
Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association.
Keynote presentations will be held as a

luncheon event with tickets available for
purchase by registered event attendees.
Technical Presentations
Technical presentations on Tuesday,
Oct. 24, kick off at 9:45 a.m. with "Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Pipeline
Inspection: A Commercial Case Study,"
by Eric Fischer, project manager at Oceaneering. At 10:45 a.m., Blair Suire, a
partner at Jones Walker LLP will present
a talk on intellectual property consideration
for oil and gas companies.
Following the two-part keynote presentation, Allen Fore, vice president of
public relations for Kinder Morgan, will
present a session focused on the midstream
market sector. At 2:30 p.m., John R.
Dribus, global geology advisor at Schlumberger, will present a discussion of geologic hazards associated with exploration
in deep water and around salt structures
in the Gulf of Mexico. Tuesday's technical
presentations wrap up with "The Engineer's Dilemma: Innovations versus Consistency," presented by Clayton George,
founder and principle engineer of Practical
Engineering Solutions LLC.
At 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25,
the South Central Industrial Association
will present a panel session on Louisiana's
maritime legacy and the current industry
cycle, featuring panelists Ben Bordelon,
president and CEO of Bollinger Shipyards;
Otto Candies III, vice chair and chief operating officer of Otto Candies Inc.; and
Robert Clemons, executive vice president
and COO of SEACOR Marine Holdings
Inc. NOAA's Randall Luthi will serve as
and moderator.
Trey Miller, global sales manager at
NOV Devin, will give a presentation at
2:30 on Wednesday afternoon looking at
the challenges of deepwater intervention
operations in the Gulf of Mexico and the
benefits of motion compensation. Wednesday's technical sessions will conclude
with a presentation on increasing employee
engagement and empowerment utilizing
a recurrent risk assessment approach by
Robert Sheninger, Talos Energy LLC's
vice president of health, safety and envi-

ronmental and regulatory compliance.
The final technical presentation will
be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26.
W. R. "Rick" Farmer, managing member
of Double R Engineering LLC, will speak
on the role of the licensed engineer in the
federal waters of the Gulf of Mexico OCS.
LAGCOE 2017 presentation rooms
are located on the second level of the
Cajundome Convention Center. It is free
to attend all technical and international
presentations. Keynote presentation luncheons will be held in the Cajundome Mardi
Gras Ballroom. Limited tickets for the

attendees, and may be purchased by visiting www.LAGCOE.com/register. In addition to the keynote presentation luncheons, LAGCOE will host a free simulcast
of the keynote presentations on the first
level of the Cajundome Convention Center.
International Program
LAGCOE is one of only two oil and
gas shows selected by the U.S. Department
of Commerce to participate in its International Buyer Program Select. Export
counseling and business to business meetings will take place in the LAGCOE International Trade Center in the Convention
Center's second level from 9:00 a.m.
until 4:00 p.m. on the first two days, and
from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26.
LAGCOE 2017 will feature international presentations covering opportunities
in Canada, Colombia, Ghana, Mexico,
Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as a session dedicated to
teaching proper business practices abroad.
At 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24,
Ibrahim Al-Alawi, deputy CEO of AlMansoori Specialized Engineering, and
George Litman III, director of operations
for the U.S. Commercial Service's Office
of Middle East and Africa, join forces to
present business opportunities in the UAE.
At 1:00 p.m., Nawaf AlArdhi, strategic
sourcing specialist at Aramco Services
Company, and Myra Bozeman, supplier
relations team leader at Aramco Services
