HOUSTON-Since the very first Offshore Technology Conference, the mission
has been to advance scientific and technical
knowledge for the safe, efficient and sustained development of offshore energy
resources. When the 50th OTC convenes
April 30-May 3 at Houston's NRG Park,
that long-standing objective will be on
full display throughout the exhibit areas,
technical sessions and special events.
Noting that Houston launched two
powerful and enduring legacies in the
summer of 1969-the Apollo 11 mission

to land Americans on the moon and the
inaugural OTC to support the development
of the hydrocarbons beneath the world's
oceans-2018 OTC Chairman Wafik Beydoun says the agenda at this year's conference is punctuated by a number of
events to observe the 50th OTC.
"Houston is known globally to be the
city where technology was born, and
OTC is proud to call Houston our home,"
comments Beydoun, general manager
and Total group representative in Kuwait.
"Thanks to our industry partners and the
city, there are very few annual events in
any industry that mirror OTC's legacy,

impact and contributions.
"There's a sense of euphoria and pride
among OTC staff, speakers, exhibitors,
volunteers and partner organizations as
we commemorate this tremendous legacy,"
he adds. "You don't want to miss this
year's event."
As with the 49 OTCs that preceded it,
the milestone 50th annual conference
brings executives, government officials,
scientists, engineers, investors and buyers
from around the world to share cuttingedge technology, expertise and experience.
The activities start on Monday morning,
April 30, with a breakfast session at 7:30
