Teachers' Workshops
LITTLE ROCK, AR.-The Arkansas
Energy Education Foundation, a
cooperative effort of the Arkansas
Independent Producers & Royalty
Owners Association and Arkansas
Petroleum Council/API, is offering two
summer workshops for teachers.
The foundation says Arkansas
Energy Rocks! will host two teacher
energy education workshops-on June
5-6 in South Arkansas, and June 11-12
in West Arkansas. The South Arkansas
workshop will focus on oil production,
while the West Arkansas event will
focus on natural gas exploration and
production.
During the workshop, AIPRO says
educators will hear presentations from
industry leaders, operators, agency
directors, and economic development
and conservation organizations. Field
tours will provide close-up looks at oil
and gas operations.
Educators will receive 14
professional development hours, and the
foundation covers all expenses.
"After hosing several successful
summer workshops in the Fayetteville
Shale, we are excited to expand this
program to our state's other production
areas, which have unique stories to tell,"
says foundation President Andy Miller.
"We are pleased to provide Arkansas
teachers with the opportunity to learn
about the diverse aspects of our
industry, and potential career
opportunities for their students."

NOIA Elects Officers
For 2018-2019 Terms
WASHINGTON-The National
Ocean Industries Association has elected
John Gellert as chairman and Richard
Clark as vice chairman for 2018-19.
Gellert is chief executive officer of
marine support vessel provider
SEACOR Marine Holdings, NOIA
notes, where he has worked since 1992.
He has held a series of international
appointments with both marketing and
operating responsibilities in Europe,
West Africa and Southeast Asia.
Clark has served as president of

deepwater Gulf of Mexico producer Deep
Gulf Energy, since he helped found it in
2004. NOIA notes that 26 of Clark's 38
years in the energy industry have been
focused on the deepwater Gulf, pointing
out that he launched his career at Shell
Offshore in 1979. He also helped found
Mariner Energy Inc., where he served as
executive vice president and sat on its
board of directors, the association reports.
According to NOIA, appointed to their
first terms on the association's Board of
Directors were Pat Bernard, Superior
Energy Services; Terry Bonno,
Transocean; Tim Duncan, Talos Energy;
Loren Fowler, Heerema Marine
Contractors; Jeff Grybowski, Deepwater

Gas Storage Levels
Decrease By 40 Bcf
WASHINGTON-Underground
natural gas storage in the United States
stood at 1.343 trillion cubic feet on April
27, 28.4 percent below the five year
average, according to the U.S. Energy
Information Administration. That was
903 Bcf less than a year ago, when gas
storage stood at 2.246 Tcf.
According to EIA, gas storage in the
East Region was 223 Bcf on April 27,
31.2 percent below the five-year average
and 99 Bcf less than it was a year ago.
The Midwest Region stood at 221
Bcf on April 27, 42.0 percent below the
five-year average and 296 Bcf less than
a year ago.
In the Mountain Region, EIA says,
gas storage was 86 Bcf on April 27,
31.7 percent below the five-year
average and 66 Bcf less than a year ago.
Gas storage in the Pacific Region
was 187 Bcf on April 27, 22.1 percent
below the five-year average and down
45 Bcf from a year ago.
In the South-Central Region, gas
storage levels on April 27 were 626 Bcf,
22.4 percent below the five-year average
and down 397 Bcf from a year ago. r
