Clariant Enhances Facility To Aid Mid-Con Operators
HOUSTON-To support the MidContinent's growing oil and gas industry,
specialty chemical provider Clariant announces it has enhanced capabilities at
its Clinton, Ok., facility.
The site includes a laboratory with
the high-end analytical services to measure chemical management programs'
effectiveness, Clariant says. Because
the facility is in the midst of customers'
operations, it can provide fast turnaround
times, the company adds.
The laboratory also helps operators
troubleshoot paraffin, emulsions and
hydrogen sulfide issues, Clariant reports.

The company points out that the regional
technology team leveraged Clariant's
global innovation group to introduce a
proprietary nontriazine scavenger that
has notably reduced customers' operating
expenses.
In addition to the laboratory, the site
houses a blending facility to provide
security of supply, Clariant continues,
adding that the unit has the flexibility
to produce fit-for-purpose products as
required.

Waste Disposal Facility
Opens In Delaware Basin
HOUSTON-Milestone Environmental Services reports it has opened a
state-of-the-art waste management facility to serve exploration, drilling and
production customers in the northern
Delaware Basin.
Milestone says the site will accept
drilling waste streams, including waterand oil-based mud, as well as some completion and production waste. The facility
is in Reeves County, five miles east of
Orla, Tx., on FM 652.
Milestone adds that it plans to open a
location south of Stanton, Tx., in August.
Locating facilities near drilling activity
reduces truck trip times and traffic along
the highways, which benefits the community and saves customers time and
money, Milestone notes. The company
says the facilities are designed to provide
trucks and fracturing tanks with efficient,
full-service washouts and quick turnaround times.

Marsh Bellofram Creates
Control Product Specialist
NEWELL, W.V.-Marsh Bellofram
Company reports it has formed BelGAS
CP, a business unit within its BelGAS division that will provide control products.
BelGAS CP makes instruments used
on the well pad and beyond, including
control valves, level controls, level safety
indicators, pressure relief valves, gauges,
and needle valves, and also provides specialty fabrication services. Marsh Bellofram
says these products and services make
the unit a one-stop shop for original equipment manufacturers of surface production
equipment for oil and gas exploration.
The company adds that BelGAS CP's
products increase the safety of several
processes, including oil and gas separation,
sweetening, treating and heating.
Marsh Bellofram points out that BelGAS CP's launch follows that of flame
management specialist BelGAS FM. The
company says these divisions' formation
is part of an aggressive plan to improve
its service to the oil and gas industry by
strategically narrowing each business
unit's focus to pair best-in-class products
with unparalleled application support.

BHGE Reorients R&D Site To Accelerate Innovation
OKLAHOMA CITY-Baker Hughes,
a GE company, announces that its Oklahoma City oil and gas technology center
is expanding its focus from traditional
research and development to launching
new products and services into the marketplace through startups.
To reflect the facility's broader role,
the company says it is renaming the
center the BHGE Energy Innovation Center of North America.
"BHGE enjoys a long history of innovation and technology leadership," says
Derek Mathieson, the company's chief
marketing and technology officer. "A new
product (typically takes) two-three years
before it can be available and put to use
at a customer site. The unique challenges
and evolving needs of our customers in
North America require a new approach,
so we have repositioned the center to
dramatically accelerate technology development for better customer outcomes."
The company says the center will have
the resources to test, launch and scale
new solutions fast. In addition to continuing

to support traditional enterprise technology
development, BHGE indicates the center's
scientists and researchers will:
* Search for and develop transformational technology that will augment or
expand BHGE's products and services;
* Create startups or "incubators" that
use new and existing BHGE technologies;

with external venture capital partners;
and
* Establish the center as an innovation
accelerator collaborator to partners in
technology, academia and the investment
community.
According to BHGE, example incubator projects targeted for North America
include applying augmented and mixed
reality technology to enhance asset management; using intelligent field automation
to increase production through machine
learning; and providing full-stream enhanced oil recovery services for unconventional reservoirs.
