XCEL Joins Crossbridge To Broaden NDT Services
CLIFTON, KS.-Nondestructive testing
services provider XCEL NDT LLC has
officially partnered with Crossbridge
Compliance LLC, a group of companies
focused on compliance.
"This was a hard decision to make,
but after getting to know the partnership's
top executives, it became a no-brainer
that this is what XCEL NDT needed to

global frame agreement under which Enpro
will provide BP with its patented flow access module (FAM) technology, which
streamlines subsea tieback projects by

project in the Gulf of Mexico and, the
companies say, the technology significantly
reduced project costs and shortened its

introduced Motors Center of Excellence,
which it describes as a new approach to
drilling motor development that combines
specialized engineering and manufacturing
capabilities to customize motor designs
for specific basin challenges.

Gates Offers Flexible Hose For Controlling Wild Wells
DENVER-Gates, a global provider
of application-specific fluid power and
power transmission solutions, announces
it has expanded its portfolio of well
control products with the introduction of
the Black Gold® 10k choke and kill hose.
The hose has an inner diameter of
three inches and a pressure rating of
10,000 psi, Gates says, adding that it
meets the American Petroleum Institute's
16C design criteria for gas exposure,
high temperature and sustained exposure
to fire.
"This product enables Gates to provide
a state-of-the-art solution for land and
offshore well control applications," says
Grant Gawronski, the company's executive
vice president and chief commercial officer. "The unique and patent-pending
design enables us to assemble it close to
customers, dramatically shortening lead
times while enabling real-time customization for customer-specific needs."

in polymer chemistry, materials, bearing
and power section design, Halliburton
says it can accelerate research and development activities to deliver advanced
drilling motors to the industry.
As a part of the approach, Halliburton
reports it has opened two reline facilities
equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
They are located in Houston and Saudi
Arabia.

United States Steel Grows Steelmaking Capabilities
PITTSBURGH-United States Steel
Corporation reports it has restarted construction of an electric arc furnace (EAF)
steelmaking facility in Fairfield, Al. The
company notes it began building in March
2015 but suspended construction in December 2015 in response to unfavorable
market conditions.
"We are pleased to announce the
achievement of the market and performance
stage gates required to restart our tubular
segment EAF. This investment is an im-

portant step to improve our cost structure
and positions our tubular business to win
over the long term," says President and
Chief Executive Officer David B. Burritt.
Completing the EAF is expected to
require a $215 million investment and
add about 150 full-time employees, United
States Steel says. According to the company, the EAF will have an annual capacity
of 1.6 million tons, and should begin
producing steel rounds in the second half
of 2020.
