AOPA 2007 Safety and Philanthropy Report - (Page 5) THE 2007 SAFETY AND PHILANTHROPY REPORT AOPA AIR SAFETY FOUNDATION: PLANS AND OUTREACH Our growing safety partnership with the National Air Traffic Controllers Association: NATCA’s participation in our heavily attended “Say It Right” seminar set the stage for additional cooperation on future GA safety subjects That’s just the beginning The results of the hard work on new courses, seminars and programs are gratifying. But they are just the beginning. With your continuing support we plan even more courses, more partnerships, more and innovative usage of proven technologies, and, of course, more vital safety education for GA pilots. 2008 plans and initiatives Among multiple projects in 2008 your contributions are funding: A major multi-year research project on Aging and GA Pilots: This continuing project is the first ever to examine how aging affects general aviation pilots specifically. Results are expected in 2010. A comprehensive, multi-faceted weather education campaign: A new DVD course, new publications, outreach to flight schools, and articles in AOPA Pilot magazine are part of a broader weather campaign focusing on thunderstorms and GA flying. 5
