endorsement requirements, while older and less active
CFIs may miss these or are unaware of changes (such as
ACS slow flight changes). For at least the first 50 hours
of providing instruction new CFIs are likely to learn
more about instructing than any other time. But new
instructors can teach a maneuver often only one way

As a retired FAA Operations Inspector (having
given more than 4,000 practical flight tests
before becoming an inspector), I would always
try to contact the instructor sometime before
the test to make sure they are up to date on all
procedures. That not only helps the instructor
but it also helps the student. It doesn't take
much time and it builds a good relationship with
the instructor. I love your articles. Keep up the
good work.
