additional information, rules governing the relationship of data entered in fields 10 and 18 have been added and will be enforced. For example, if you select R in field 10a (PBN Approved) you must have an entry in Field 18 PBN/ (see the figure above which shows Field 18, the Remarks section of the new CSC ICAO 2012 form). For more information about these rules, please go to www.faa.gov and enter ICAO 2012 in the search bar or log into www.duats.com and select ICAO 2012 from the help pull-down menu. CSC DUATS will provide “bubble help” for all the fields in the form. What this means is that when you position your cursor over a field label, a bubble will appear with help for that field. In some cases, if needed, you will also be able to “click” on the bubble to get additional detailed help. A final note, even though the new 2012 ICAO flight plan form has been expanded, you do not need to fill in any fields that do not apply to your flight. Check the CSC ICAO 2012 help for direction and guidance on what the minimum required fields are for filing a ICAO 2012 flight plan. CSC DUATS will check for required entries needed for filing when you submit your flight plan and notify you of any errors or missing fields.

ICAO flight plan form transitioning
Prior to the November 13th date, CSC DUATS will allow the use of both the old ICAO forms and the new 2012 forms. Flight plans that were stored under the old form will continue to be available for filing using the old form; however, during this time, you will be given an option to convert your old ICAO flight plan (including the domestic ICAO) to the new format. Once this has been done, you may not use the old form for the flight plan you converted. Before filing a converted flight plan, be sure to review the plan and add any additional information required for ICAO 2012. On November 13th, all stored ICAO and domestic ICAO flight plans that have not been converted by the pilot will be converted by CSC DUATS to the new ICAO 2012 format. If you file an ICAO flight plan after November 13th and you have not pre-converted it, be sure to review the plan and add any additional information required for ICAO 2012.
Updated Aircraft profiles
Prior to the November 13th date, CSC DUATS will update the Aircraft Profile web page to accommodate the additional equipment information needed in the ICAO 2012 flight plan form.
