Chris Foltz

Does What Needs to Be Done
USA Retired Lt. Col. Chris Foltz was an
Army then Air Force pilot who recently retired from Hurlburt Field, FL. He has been
a faithful Claroxan user for over six years.
Chris got his start in aviation by earning a
bachelor's degree in science for aeronautics
at San Jose State University. After that, he
pursued flying on the side at a part 61 school
- attaining his private all the way through to
ATP certificate. He eventually got his commercial and multi-engine under the instruction of his father - a career Navy fighter
pilot. Chris also has an A&P certificate.
What can't this guy accomplish?
Chris gained time in civilian and military
settings. From 1981-1990 he was commissioned to fly the Army's OV-1 Mohawk flying intelligence sorties in Korea. After that,
he flew UH-1 Hueys in the reserves.
Chris did a stint in the airlines, starting
at Pan-AM Express and moving on to fly
A-320's out of CLT for US Air but that only
lasted for a short while. Chris wasn't meant
for the airlines. His passion was military
aviation. He loved working on and flying
war birds (including the OV-1 Mohawk) so
Chris joined the USAF in 2000 and flew
HC-130 Search and Rescue aircraft until
2005, moving to the C-130 after that.
In addition to all his diverse experience,
Chris had the honor of flying a classic
model DC-3 called the 'Southern Cross,'

which had been ordered by TWA just before WWII. The Southern Cross still flies
the skies to this day, traveling to air shows
and offering rides on Christmas light night
flights between Thanksgiving and New
Year around the Dallas area.
We caught up with Chris when he wasn't
covered in grease or flying the skies to talk
about his success and continued use with
Claroxan. Here's what he has to say:
"I make sure to exercise six days a week;
mixing running, lifting and swimming into
my routine.
I was looking for a nutrition pill that was
specifically for pilots. I'm 55 and have been
told by health professionals that vision
starts to decline after 40.
My vision had stayed pretty strong for the
past 20 years but I figured Claroxan would
be a good addition. I notice the effects best
when I fly the DC-3 for the night Christmaslight rides. The DC-3 has small instruments
that aren't lighted well and I need to be able
to read them accurately and quickly.
