Antonucci is associate vice president for research at the University of Michigan. n the American Psychological Society awarded Ellen Berscheid, PhD, and Elaine hatfield, PhD, the 2012 William James Awards for lifetime contributions to psychology. Hatfield is a professor of Hatfield psychology at the University of Hawai’i at M¯ anoa and Berscheid is regents Professor at the University of Minnesota. n Robin Deutsch, PhD, is the director of the new Center of excellence for Children, Families, and the Law at Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology. the center will help support Deutsch families at risk and keep court personnel, judges, mental health professionals, attorneys, and other government staff and administrators up to 100 date on psychology research. Formerly, Deutsch served as director of Forensic Services of the Children and the Law Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. n the American College Health Foundation awarded Russ federman, PhD, the Stephen Weiss Writing Prize for his 2011 journal article “treatment of Bipolar Disorder in the University Federman Student Population.” the prize is granted to the lead author of a pivotal publication in college mental health. Federman is the director of Counseling and Psychological Services at the University of virginia. n the University of tennessee named Theresa M. Lee, PhD, dean of its College of Arts and Sciences. Lee taught at the University of Michigan’s psychology department for 23 years and is known for her research on reproduction. n the Michigan Cancer Consortium has awarded Peter Lichtenberg, PhD, and Teri Albrecht the 2010 Spirit of Collaboration Award for their dedication to the Detroit Community network Program. this organization focuses on helping elderly, underserved African Americans. n Kent State University is honoring David C. Riccio, PhD, for his longtime service to the university’s psychology department. riccio has been at Kent State for 46 years. His research has been focused riccio on memory processes. n Asuncion Miteria Austria, PhD, chair and director of clinical training of the Cardinal Stritch University graduate program in clinical psychology, received the university’s 2010 Distinguished Scholar Award. the honor recognizes a faculty member whose “scholarly activities, research or other creative works are at the forefront of her or his respective discipline.” n Florida State University named Garnett S. Stokes, PhD, as its new provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. Before her appointment, Stokes chaired the department of psychology at the University of Georgia for five years and served as dean of the university’s Franklin College of Arts and Sciences for seven years. —C.
