The primary responsibility of the fellow will be to assist in building active programs of research. The postdoctoral mentor will be Jasjit S. Ahluwalia, MD, MPH, MS. Dr. Ahluwalia is the PI and Executive Director of The Center for Health Equity, a NIH-funded P60 Comprehensive Center of Excellence in Minority Health and Health Disparities, which provides a strong infrastructure for those interested in this area. Dr. Ahluwalia is also the Associate Director for the Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI), a $55 million NIH funded CTSA award. In this capacity he directs Clinical Research Education, Training and Career Development. He has a long track record of successfully mentoring trainees, most of who have gone on to secure NIH funding. Eligible candidates should have a doctoral degree in behavioral science, health education, health services research, sociology, anthropology, clinical, social or counseling psychology or a related discipline. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills and strong training in applied research. The position provides exceptional mentored training with an opportunity to develop research skills and collaborate with a dynamic, federally funded, multidisciplinary team of investigators including psychologists, physicians, epidemiologists, and statisticians.
