The two will use the grant to study how training, attachment styles and countertransference foster the development of effective psychotherapists. The Health Care Reform Task Force is tackling healthcare reform issues that affect psychologists at the state and federal levels. Its goal is to share information on how to sustain roles for psychologists in health care and publicize successful leadership and advocacy efforts. Div. 32 to spotlight DSM-5 protest Div. 32 (Society for Humanistic Psychology) is sponsoring three events on the controversy surrounding the proposed revisions to the DSM-5 at APA’s 2012 Annual Convention in Orlando, Fla., Aug. 2–5. The division will host a symposium and a conversation hour on the topic, as well as an interdivisional event featuring short talks by several APA division presidents on why they support Div. 32’s petition against the proposed DSM5 changes. APA Past-president Melba J.T. Vasquez, PhD, will provide opening remarks at the interdivisional event.
