Division SPOTLIGHT Share your clinical experiences with Div. 12 and 29 Div. 29 (Psychotherapy) and Div. 12 (Society of Clinical Psychology) seek clinicians to participate in their ongoing initiative to build a two-way bridge between research and practice, which will enable therapists to share their experience with empirically supported treatments. Specifically, the divisions are asking clinicians about their experience using cognitivebehavioral therapy to treat obsessive compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. These online surveys take 10 to 15 minutes to complete: go to www.psychdata.com and search for the OCD survey, 147366, and the PTSD survey, 147345. The divisions will publish survey results they’ve gathered on the treatment of panic disorder, social anxiety and general anxiety disorder next year. For more information, contact Marvin Goldfried, PhD, at mgoldfried@notes.cc.sunysb.edu. Div. 31 honors state leaders Div. 31 (State, Provincial and Territorial Psychological Association Affairs) presented three awards at APA’s 2012 State Leadership Conference, held in Washington, D.C., March 10–13. The winners are: The Tennessee Psychological Association, which won the 2012 76 Diversity Award for its ongoing commitment to strengthening diversity through the recruitment and retention of minority members from all backgrounds. The Montana Psychological Association, which won the Outstanding SPTA Award for its financial creativity and responsibility as well as its efforts to provide outreach to the community and professional development for members. Kathryn Saylor, PhD, of the New Hampshire Psychological Association, who won the Outstanding Achievement by a Psychological Association Staff Member. Saylor won for her work to engage undergraduate students in the association and add internship positions in the state. Div. 36 changes its name Div. 36 has changed its name from the Division for the Psychology of Religion to the Society for the Psychology of Religion and Spirituality. According to Div. 36 President Chris Boyatzis, PhD, the division voted for the change because “a large majority of our membership feels that this term recognizes an important dimension of life and our scholarly and professional work that can be distinct from ‘religion.’” The division hosts a midyear conference and sponsors the APA journal Psychology of Religion and Spirituality.
