Seeking Awards Nominations Do you want to call special attention to someone who has really made an impact on the profession? Submit an APMA award application! Nominators are asked to review carefully the Awards and Recognition Procedures which provide comprehensive information about the qualifications for each award. The procedures, as well as the application, are available on the members’ website (www.apma.org/ awards). Please note completed applications, including all required documents, should be submitted electronically to Simmons. The deadline for submission of completed nomination packets is June 1, 2012. n RISING STAR AWARD National Level The Rising Star Award may be awarded to a member in good standing in practice for no more than 10 years in recognition of outstanding national accomplishments in scientific, professional, or civic endeavors. Nominees must have demonstrated outstanding service to APMA. n HUMANITARIAN AWARD National Level n DISTINGUISHED SERVICE CITATION MEMBERS OR LAY PERSON—National Level This citation is the association’s highest honor and should be reserved only for those individuals whose contributions are truly long-term, outstanding, and of lasting significance to the profession of podiatric medicine and to APMA. This award should be viewed as the equivalent of a lifetime achievement award. The Humanitarian Award may be awarded to an institution/organization or individual member in good standing demonstrating truly outstanding humanitarian efforts that have had a profound impact on the public and a definable positive impact on podiatric medicine. n MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD MEMBERS OR LAY PERSON— Local/State/Regional Level A Meritorious Service Award may be awarded to a member in good standing or lay person in recognition of outstanding accomplishments on the local, state, or regional level in scientific, professional, or civic endeavors that have had a profound impact on podiatric medicine. Nominees must have demonstrated outstanding service to APMA, component societies, or affiliated organizations. n AWARD OF EXCELLENCE MEMBERS OR LAY PERSON—National Level The Award of Excellence may be awarded to a member in good standing or lay person in recognition of outstanding national accomplishments in scientific, professional, or civic endeavors. Nominees must have demonstrated outstanding service to APMA.
