In Short Young Physicians Meet at APMA Last month, five young physician liaisons met at APMA headquarters to discuss the needs of their colleagues in residency, fellowship, and the beginning stage of practice. APMA’s new Director of Young Physicians, Nichol Salvo, DPM, also was an active participant in the meeting and helped facilitate and lead group discussions. Topics included defining the structure of the Young Physicians’ Program, brainstorming ideas for awareness-building among young physicians, and discussing the expansion of educational resources currently available. This meeting served as an opportunity to strategically plan the future of the program and continue APMA’s commitment to young physicians—those podiatrists who graduated from podiatric medical school in the previous 10 years. CPME Residency List Now Available The Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME) introduces a revised, easy-to-use list of approved residency programs, available at www.cpme.org/residencies/ResidenciesList.cfm?nav ItemNumber=2242. By clicking on state abbreviations at the top of the list, users can now jump to a specific state to find a comprehensive list of programs in that location rather than scrolling through a PDF Users can also search the CPME website to locate . a residency program’s individual page. The new format allows the list of approved residencies to be updated more frequently to provide the most accurate information available. The five-hour workshop is interactive, including time for questions. The workshop will prepare you to become a Certified Surgical Foot and Ankle Coder and takes place at the Midwest Podiatry Conference in Chicago on April 20.
