APMA Educational Foundation Message from the Executive Director Your Contribution Makes a Difference "We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give." -Winston S. Churchill Becoming a podiatric physician and surgeon is an expensive proposition today. You can help deserving students through your generosity in supporting the APMA Educational Foundation Student Scholarship Fund. Many of us recall the challenges we faced as students and young doctors trying to pay off our educational loans. Now is the time for us to step up and help the next generation of podiatrists. Foundation scholarships help our students reduce their enormous debt and at the same time help our colleges of podiatric medicine recruit the most qualified applicants to join our profession. These students will become the young doctors who are the future of podiatric medicine. They will not only carry on our role as the preeminent providers of lower extremity care, but they will also continue to advance our profession. The foundation is the only national funding resource devoted to podiatric medical students. The foundation annually awards 200 or more scholarships to qualified third- and fourth-year APMA student members enrolled in our colleges. Your generous contribution to the foundation can and will make a difference. Please consider what you can do to make your life and the life of one of our students better. James R. Christina, DPM Executive Director and CEO American Podiatric Medical Association THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUS SCHOLARSHIP from the Seward P. Nyman, DPM, Memorial fund. Since this fund is dedicated to the future of podiatry I feel honored to be able to accept this financial contribution to help me reach my educational goals. Thank you for supporting and caring for podiatric medical students across the country. Having supportive mentors in the field of podiatry makes a difference in the advancement and excitement of the profession. I hope to one day be able to give back to the future of podiatry as well. -Petrina Yokay, Class of 2018, New York College of Podiatric Medicine PICA MATCHING GRANT PICA'S SPECIAL APPRECIATION GOES TO PICA FOR ITS CONTINUED SUPPORT OF OUR STUDENTS!
