Then-APMA President R. Daniel Davis, DPM, presented
Timothy Tillo, DPM, with APMA's highest honor, the
Distinguished Service Citation. Dr. Tillo was lauded for
demonstrating unwavering commitment to the advancement of the profession, humble service to his association, steadfast leadership, and unassailable ethics.
Dr. Tillo has been a longtime leader of the Florida Podiatric Medical Association, serving as president from
2002-04 and as a delegate to the APMA HOD from
2000-16. He chaired the Resolutions Committee from
2009-15 and has served on many APMA committees.
"For me, this [award] is a result of opportunities that
were passed my way," Dr. Tillo said.
Dr. Christina presented Richard Bloch, JD, with the Dr.
Glenn B. Gastwirth Leadership Award. "I have served
as legal counsel to [the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association] since 1979, and I've been the executive di-

rector since 1997. It has truly been a wonderful experience," Bloch said.
Dr. Davis honored Priya Parthasarathy, DPM, with
the Rising Star Award. The award is presented to members who have been in practice fewer than five years
in recognition of outstanding national accomplishments in scientific, professional, or civic endeavors. Dr.
Parthasarathy has served as the young physician liaison
to the APMA Board of Trustees, the Legislative Advocacy Committee, and the Path to Parity Committee. She
is the APMAPAC coordinator in Maryland.
John Evans, DPM, was honored with the Award of Excellence. The award is presented to members in good
standing in recognition of outstanding national accomplishments in scientific, professional, or civic endeavors. Dr. Evans has been a lifelong leader in his home
state of Michigan and at the national level. He has served
his peers as an APMA Carrier Advisory Committee representative and a valued expert on Medicare. He is a long-

James R. Christina, DPM, APMA executive director and CEO, updated
the house on the development of APMA's data registry, among other
important issues.
