STEP UP FOR PODIATRY

Open your Internet browser. In the address bar,
type www.apma.org/eAdvocacy to go to the
eAdvocacy website.
The program uses "single sign-on" technology
so if you've previously logged in to APMA.org,
the system will automatically log you in to the
eAdvocacy website.

If you haven't already logged in, simply type in
your APMA username (typically it's your APMA
ID#) and your password. If you don't know your
number, click on "Trouble Logging In?" and the
number will be emailed to you at the address
you provided to APMA. If you have not provided
a current email address, call 800-ASK-APMA
and request your ID number.

Verify which member(s) of Congress you want
to write (add or remove the 4 mark beside the
name by clicking on the box).

If you are satisfied with the letter, click the "Take
Action" box to send your messages. It's that easy!

The Action Center tab returns you to the
eAdvocacy home page. From there you can
explore other issues and write additional
messages, review important federal health
legislation, check your members' voting records
on issues of importance to podiatrists, or
connect to congressional websites.
From the Federal Advocacy tab, you can view
information about federal political action and
APMA activities related to federal issues. The
State Advocacy tab lists information about
state issues and allows APMA members to write
to state legislators. At the APMAPAC tab, you
will find information about APMA's Political
Action Committee.
On the main Action Center page, scroll down
to review APMA's "Action Alerts," and click the
issue to review and send a prewritten form letter
that will be personalized and sent directly from
the eAdvocacy website. APMA recommends that
members learn more about each issue by clicking
on the issue of choice.
Alternatively, you may write your own letter and
email it if you prefer by editing the prewritten
message to include personal comments, or you
can copy, paste, and print the letter on your
personal stationery using a word-processing
program such as Word, then send it through
regular mail. Note that mail will take weeks,
because congressional mail is screened for
harmful substances.
