Atlantic City Visitors Guide 2007 - (Page 22) Got fish? In the Atlantic City area, we’ve got plenty. New Jersey’s strict water quality regulations mean clean ocean waters that provide a fertile breeding and feeding ground for your favorite seafood catches, plus great sport fishing opportunities. It’s no fluke that flounder is one of the main catches … along with bluefish, striped bass, tuna, swordfish, clams, crabs and many other delicacies. So how can you get your catch of the day? You can join the anglers who cast their lines from one of the piers or rock jetties … or you can take one of the area’s fishing excursions operated by licensed captains. Private boat rentals and deep-sea sport fishing trips are also available, for those who wish to find their own fishing grounds or go for the big game. Tuna and swordfish, among others, provide exciting offshore action. If cruising without casting a line is more your style, the area offers a great mix of sightseeing cruises with everything from sunset cruises to whale and dolphin watching. For those who prefer to cruise without a motor, sailboats of many sizes provide a relaxing time on the water. And if you’re the type who’d rather propel the boat by person-power, you’ll appreciate the kayak, canoe, raft, catamaran and jet ski opportunities the area provides.
