Arkansas State Park Guide 2008 - (Page 47) Arkansas State Parks The River Meets the Ridge Mississippi River State Park Through a special use permit from the USDA Forest Service, Arkansas State Parks is developing state park facilities within the St. Francis National Forest in eastern Arkansas southeast of Marianna and north of Helena. The 20,946-acre national forest stretches along Crowley’s Ridge and borders the Mississippi River. Park facilities will be constructed in phases at several different locations including the Bear Creek Lake Recreation Area, the mouth of the St. Francis River, and the Storm Creek Lake Recreation Area. The first of these projects, the new Beech Point Campground at Bear Creek Lake, is scheduled to open by fall of 2008. Where River, Lake and Bay Meet Enjoy this popular fishing and water sports area in south central Arkansas where Moro Bay and Raymond Lake join the Ouachita River.
