Over the past decade, much has been learned about the neurophysiology of stuttering. Many studies investigating pharmacologic interventions to enhance treatment have been completed. Many studies involve the use of dopamine antagonist medications, which may carry the potential for significant side effects. The most extensive pharmacologic trials ever conducted in stuttering treatment utilize a novel compound, pagoclone, which targets the GABA neurotransmitter system. The latest data on pagoclone will be presented. FR 3:30PM-5:30PM, Seminar 2 HR, CC/357 Problem Solving With the Lidcombe Program for Stuttering Rosalee C.
