Morial Convention Center Clinical Specialty Recognition: What’s In It For Me?, Room 399 This session will include a presentation by the Council for Clinical Specialty Recognition with a general overview of specialty recognition and specific information regarding the current Specialty Boards. The presentation will be followed by an opportunity for participants to talk with members of the Council and the three current Specialty Boards: Child Language, Fluency Disorders, and Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders. Conducting Your Accreditation Self-Study: Where to Start, Room 388 Are you having trouble deciding where to start in preparing your CAA application? Engaging in self-study as an ongoing process supports programs’ long-term planning and identifies strengths, accomplishments, and improvement areas. Although linked, selfstudy and accreditation processes are parallel but different, allowing for internal assessment and external peer review. New Investigator Roundtable, Room 255 This session is for individuals in the beginning stages of an academic-research career to interact with more experienced investigators in an informal setting. Tables are arranged by topic area, with 1–3 senior investigators serving as topic coordinators for each table. The Clinical Fellowship Experience: What You Need to Know, Room 349 This popular session, designed for Clinical Fellows and Clinical Fellowship mentors/supervisors, will provide important, current information on the Clinical Fellowship (CF) experience. Topics discussed will include the purpose of the CF, requirements for the experience, what clinical fellows should know in selecting a mentor/supervisor, what materials must be submitted to report the experience, and the responsibilities of CF mentors/supervisors. Higher Education Data System (HES) Update, Room 391 This presentation will provide a general overview of the Higher Education Data System (HES); HES survey schedule; reports and recommendations for managing administrative roles necessary for programs to successfully complete HES instruments. New and existing program directors or their designees, who would like to learn more about the HES, improve the efficiency of survey completion and to speak with individuals who represent the HES instrument owners (ASHA, CAPCSD and the CAA) are encouraged to attend. 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. 12:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. Graduate School Fair, Exhibit Hall G Opening General Session, Ernest N. You will hear from Program Co-Chairs Alex Johnson and John Ferraro about the Convention program and other exciting events happening during the three days of Convention.
