PROGRAM SESSIONSFR 3:30PM-5:30PM, Seminar 2 HR, CC/263 A Linguistic Analysis of Autoclitic Verbal Behavior William Helsel, PLEA Agency, Pittsburgh, PA; Eric Nyberg, Carnegie Mellon U, Pittsburgh, PA; Bruce Baker, U of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA Linguistic analysis and applied behavior analysis (ABA) have long been at odds in theory and in practice, but find a common ground in the analysis of Skinner's category of autoclitic verbal behavior--language designed by the speaker to be understood by the listener. ABA and linguistic theory play roles in the treatment of people with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). The authors show how the two theories can play complementary roles in therapy. 1552 Poster Board 34 FR 10:00AM-11:30AM, Poster, CC/Hall G Review: AAC for Persons With Visual Impairments Varies With Hearing Thomas Kovacs, U of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA; Katya Hill, U of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA 1560 Poster Board 42 FR 1:00PM-2:30PM, Poster, CC/Hall G Instructional Strategies for Students Using Augmentative & Alternative Communication Systems Aimee Calleja, Speech Techniques, P.A., Huntersville, NC; Angela Losardo, Appalachian St U, Boone, NC 1553 Poster Board 35 FR 10:00AM-11:30AM, Poster, CC/Hall G Public Computing Options for Individuals With Cognitive Disabilities: Survey Outcomes Lynn Fox, Portland St U, Portland, OR; McKay Moore Sohlberg, U of Oregon, Eugene, OR; Stephen Fickas, U of Oregon, Eugene, OR; Rik Lemoncello, Portland St U, Portland, OR 1561 Poster Board 43 spEECh-LanguagE pathoLogY Friday, november 20, 2009 FR 3:30PM-5:30PM, Seminar 2 HR, CC/355 Telecommunication & AAC: Strategies for Success Elizabeth Hanson, U of South Dakota, Vermillion, SD; Laura Ball, East Carolina U, Greenville, NC; Lewis Golinker, Assistive Technology Law Ctr, Ithaca, NY; Kay Otteman, U of South Dakota, Vermillion, SD Talking on the telephone is a convenience that most of us take for granted.
