SLP Neurogenic Speech and Language The Oral Mechanism Examination for Children and Young Adults: Craniofacial and Oral Evaluation John E. Riski, PhD, CCC-SLP Mary Anne Witzel, PhD, CCC-SLP This self-study provides clinicians with an opportunity to assess their skills in identifying normal and abnormal oral anatomy, and to improve their precision in interpreting the oral examination. Case examples are used to give clinicians practice identifying normal and abnormal oral, craniofacial, and velopharyngeal structures; using these findings to make referrals and differential diagnoses; and assessing the importance of these findings in assessment and treatment.
