Ashrae Journal - December 2008 - (Page 70) New Product Preview Advertising Section I Carnes Releases Anti Microbial Soil Resistant Coating They are designed to accommodate a Gel Seal HEPA or ULPA filter. The filters can be easily removed and replaced from the face of the unit. These high quality filters incorporate a 2 deep media, integral test port and an anodized aluminum gel seal frame. It introduces air in a semi-cylindrical 180 degree radial flow pattern, flushing a room with large volumes of clean conditioned air, minimizing entrainment and hence mixing with contaminated air, while allowing low room air velocities. It introduces air in a 90 degree radial flow pattern for perimeter applications. or cooling with reheat, these units are constructed with 1 rigid board insulation with an additional galvanized steel liner preventing fiber material from entering the airstream. Also available are Carnes patented clean air terminal units with factory mounted external insulation. These units incorporate 1 rigid duct board insulation mounted on the exterior of the unit leaving the interior fill-free. As a result, providing a completely clean environment. n HVACR systems, mold is always a major concern. As a result, Carnes releases its all new Anti Microbial Soil Resistant coating for all products. This coating, also known as A.M.S.R., is applied as a final coating on HVAC products. This optional coating suppresses the growth of microorganisms and resists the accumulation of soil providing the user with a cleaner and healthier environment. This exclusive coating from Carnes has gone through strict testing procedures to validate its anti microbial properties. The A.M.S.R. coating is ASTM Method G 21-96 Certified and has passed the New York State Antibacterial Test. It is available as an option on all products including Registers, Grilles, Diffusers, Terminal Units, Supply Fans, Humidifiers, and Energy Recovery Units. The following are just a few products that would be great along with the A.M.S.R. coating for clean room applications. Carnes radial pattern diffuser with filter has been designed to provide low aspiration and high ventilation rates especially for clean room applications such as research laboratories, animal labs, food processing, hospital rooms and computer rooms. The unique design of solid baffles in an intrusive perforated face can handle large volumes of air with low initial face velocities. 70 ASHRAE Journal The A.M.S.R. coating is not intended as a substitute for good hygiene or to prevent food-borne Carnes stamped diffusers combine or infectious diseases. the unobtrusive appearance of square diffusers with the optimum About Carnes: performance of round diffusers.
