Thousands came to see displays of what’s new in the HVAC&R industry. What’s New 1,953 Exhibitors Display Products in 9 Acres DALLAS—An online survey done by ASHRAE Journal shows that 67% of exhibitors introduced a new product this year, and 55% of the products improve energy efficiency. Here are some of the products attendees saw at the Show. Cooling & Refrigeration Sporlan introduced the SFV Secondary Fluid Control package for use in secondary glycol refrigeration systems. The valve and controller combination allows users to set their desired case temperature. The system is designed to maintain case temperature stability within 0.5 degrees of setpoint and reduce compressor cycling by up to 60%. http:// tinyurl.com/a3rkndr Parker Hannifin Corporation displayed the new CO Series copper filter-drier, designed to withstand the extreme pressure of transcritical carbon dioxide (R-744) systems while providing complete system protection in a compact design. http:// tinyurl.com/bap8zqp March 2013 Emerson Climate Technologies launched new 9 hp and 10 hp Copeland Scroll compressors for commercial air conditioning. The compressors feature 11.3 EER while achieving a 20% reduction in weight compared to earlier models. The new compressors are available with optional sight glass, rotalocks, molded plugs and oil fittings. http:// tinyurl.com/auyjnhn TORAD Engineering introduced the Spool Compressor refrigerant compressor, which uses TORAD’s patented Spool Machine technology. It features the “Eccentric Cam,” which controls the rotating gate’s position and maintains a near-zero constant distance between the distal end of the rotating gate and the stator bore, which allows the compressor to scale across large capacity and speed ranges. http://tinyurl.com/by85nbw The DuTreat rooftop unit from Advantix Systems is a packaged downdraft rooftop unit that uses liquid desiccant See New, Page 10 www.info.hotims.com/44630-19 ASHRAE Journal 7
