High Performing Buildings - Spring 2008 - (Page 23) High-Performance Building Design Certification Be Recognized as a High Performer! In today’s buildings, implementing innovative technologies for energy-efficient and sustainable designs is essential. Increase awareness of your knowledge of environmentally friendly designs for new and existing buildings by earning the High-Performance Building Design Professional (HBDP) certification from ASHRAE. ASHRAE has developed the HBDP certification program with cooperation from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Green Building Initiative (GBI). Designers who earn the HBDP certification have demonstrated a well-rounded understanding and knowledge of how HVAC&R design is integrated into high performance buildings to achieve a sustainable design. The inaugural administration of the HBDP examination will be Wednesday, June 25, 2008, in conjunction with ASHRAE’s Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, UT. This first exam will be a pencil-and-paper test. Visit www.ashrae.org/certification to download the HBDP candidate guidebook and to apply for the HBDP exam in Salt Lake City. * Membership in ASHRAE is not a requirement for certification. Act Now!
