Today is at leisure to explore the shopping and nightlife district along Silom Road up to Patpong Road. Overnight: Choice of hotel for 3 nights. DAY 2: FLOATING MARKETS & RIVER KWAI Drive through the rural outskirts of Bangkok before boarding a long-tailed boat for a cruise to the floating markets used by local merchants. Continue to the River Kwai and its infamous bridge. Enjoy lunch before visiting the bridge, then stop at the JEATH War Museum and Allied War Grave Cemetery. (L) DAY 3: GRAND PALACE, EMERALD BUDDHA & THAI DINNER SHOW Visit the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, with its Buddha image carved from a single piece of jade. Next, see the Grand Palace, former home of the Kings of Siam, built in traditional Thai architecture mixed with European designs. You’ll also see the Royal Funeral Hall and the Royal Coronation Hall. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps check out the local markets. This evening, enjoy a traditional Thai meal as dancers perform stories from classical Thai folklore.
