The drawer boxes are
solid Maple, dovetailed and
finished clear with soft-close,
under-mount hardware. All
the appliances have mitered
panels that match the doors
and drawer fronts. The cabinets are topped with an onyx
countertop and handmade
tile backsplash.

It was truly a delight to
work with the owner on this
project, says Deas. “It is not
very often you have a customer who knows what they
want, and has the budget to
obtain it. We are extremely
pleased with the outcome
of the beautiful woodwork
which highlights all the other
elegant elements in the
house – hand-blown glass
lighting, handmade tile in the
shower, antique slate roof
tiles as flooring, a concrete
vanity top, and hand-painted
wallpaper in the back of the
bookcase.”
As Deas sums it up, “there
are certainly facets of this
project that I will probably
never encounter again, but if
we do I know we can handle
them and even exceed the
expectations of the customer.”
Through weekly meetings and consultation with
the millwork company, along
with a few design modifications, we achieved wonderful
results, says Dixon. “I am particularly pleased that we were
able to retain the old wood
and the beautiful appearance of the matching wood
as well.”
