These requests vary from a limited review and comment on project specifications to helping draft suggestions for changes to the AWS and submitting them to the AWI Technical Committee for review. Additionally, there have been occasions when design professionals ask for clarity in writing the standards into their specifications or clearly conveying a design detail in their contract documents. Here are some valuable technical tips regarding the AWS: Seek assistance early. If you need clarification on something you’ve read in the AWS, don’t wait until it is too late to have it included in the ext edition. Contact AWI as early as possible. Consult the AWS Errata Page accessed through the AWI, WI or AWMAC websites or at aws-errata.com, check here for changes suggested by members and approved by the Joint Standards Committee. Remember this is not additional information – it is part of the standards and errata entries trump the effected content of the AWS book.
