At The Table
“Throughout the process,
O’Keefe Incorporated provided construction methods and
techniques to make the architects’ design more functional,” recalls Humphrey. “One
example is that we offered
to use a mix of Pine and Fir
to help keep the budget in
line while delivering the look
and feel of the design intent.
Our suggestion was gratefully
accepted.”
P.F. Chang’s has a dedicated staff in construction who
understands what it takes to
get the job done correctly,
Humphrey continues. “They
have a genuine concern on
meeting their timetables and
understanding the need for a
quality product that will withstand intense demands for
many years to come.”
O’Keefe and the architects
have worked together for
many years on P.F. Chang’s
restaurants. “We have an
excellent working relationship. When questions come
up on construction methods
or materials, we provide
ideas and work out solutions
in the best interst of everyone
involved. We work together
with the architect to secure
the best value for the owner
while maintaining the architect’s vision.”
Vejda agrees. “The special
assistance O’Keefe provided
was through their details in
the shop drawings that helped
define how some of the millwork items were going to be
executed to maintain the overall feel of the project without
compromise but be the most
cost effective for the client.”
Wood elements produced
by O’Keefe included host
stands and a bar of plain
sliced Maple; POS stations;
suspended liquor racks and
privacy dining walls.
