Now that the HUB has
reopened, the building has a
totally redesigned and rebuilt
first, second and third floors.
The remaining three floors
have been remodeled and
updated as well. The building
is now prepared to meet the
design
I summer 2013
needs of future Huskies on
this Seattle campus.
Completed after a fiveyear design and construction
process, this latest reincarnation of the HUB is a forwardthinking, contemporary
facility and a true embodi-
ment of what a 21st-century
student and campus center
should be. Considering this
is the most extensive HUB
renovation since the original
construction in 1948-49, the
building seamlessly bridges
the university’s past, pres-
ent and future by blending
elements of the original HUB
with new features.
Perkins + Will, Seattle,
Washington, was the architectural firm selected to
design the student center.
