In order to meet the district's needs and goals, four
aging and functionally obsolete schools were to be consolidated into two facilities
responsive to the needs of
21st century education. Tioga
is one of the new schools.
The 120,000 square foot
school is situated on 11 acres
I
and includes a new addition
to an existing school to create an entirely new facility.
The project began in 2010.
The first phase was completed two years later.
"Tioga Elementary directly
addresses the district's philosophy of school as a community of learners and its
need for team teaching, peer
tutoring, hands-on technology, collaboration, projectbased and informal learning," explains STR Partners'
Susanna Craib-Cox, marketing
manager.
