The Woodwork Richard Pringle of CraftPoint Concepts notes that the woodworking firm built Maple shelves for the library, a Cherry stair rail, a reception desk and booth seating. The firm also provided sculpted and textured laminates and deco metal throughout the space. He points out that the reception desk was the most noteworthy piece "as it features different angles and curves as well as different materials all of which needed to work together seamlessly. The desk features acrylic panels, onyx stone, curved boxes built inside the desk, metal accents, and signage." Also challenging, he continues, were the restaurant booths. "The booths are rounded but the backs taper back toward the top," Pringle explains. "We had to make them with the curves and tapers uniformly together. They also needed to CHERRY fit perfectly between columns so there were many aspects to consider when fabricating the booths." fall 2017 MAPLE I designsolutions 35
