"The soffit paneling at the third floor of the atrium provided a challenge due to sheer size of each panel, and the sequencing required to complete the project on time," explains Palmer. "Since the panels are five feet by ten feet, they wouldn't fit in the service elevator. The freight elevator was inoperable at the time, so we coordinated to lift the finished panels through the open curtain wall from the street on the northwest side of the building." J.C. Schaub of Baskervill explains, "Saltine is designed to feel like a worn and established neighborhood corner pub that existed for decades, dark and masculine with classic rail and stile detailing. Varia is an eclectic, modern Italian restaurant that sets up a series of discoveries and differing dining experiences. Grain is a comfortable taphouse that blurs the line between indoors and outdoors." Restaurants Saltine and Varia are both approximately 8,000 square feet and Grain is approximately 14,000 square feet. The process from initial design to project completion spanned four years. Each has a very distinctive and unique look and feel with very different detailing and finishes. 1-1/2" STONE TOP (BY OTHERS) 16" 30" 1-1/2" 5" 36-1/2" 42" FRY REGLET CHANNEL REVEAL 4" 4" 14" GLASS INSERT 3" 20-1/4" 3" 3-3/4" 1 26 I designsolutions summer 2017 TILE BASE (BY OTHERS) VERTICAL SECTION @ 4th Floor Prefunction Desk
