Annual Report 2008 - (Page 37) Sustaining Infrastructure SUSTAINING OUR COMMUNITY Around the world, Bentley colleagues are drawn together by a mutual interest in the softer side of “public works” — the civic and community causes they support together. As a company, Bentley sets as priorities the philanthropic causes advanced by colleagues through their own funds and personal time, an entrepreneurial incentive consistent with the Company’s core values. Initiatives include: • Colleague-supported projects such as Red Cross blood drives, Habitat for Humanity housing programs, and humanitarian assistance in Africa, Costa Rica, Haiti, India, and other regions; • Delivering basic infrastructure to those with extreme needs, particularly in the developing world; • Providing software and learning without cost through our From the Ground Up program to the volunteers engaged in development projects conducted by not-for-profit organizations such as Engineers Without Borders. 38
