The Year in Infrastructure 2007 - (Page 31) Resorts World at Sentosa, Singapore michael graves & associates and dp architects pte ltd The Resorts World at Sentosa was designed by lead architect Michael Graves and Associates and local architect DP Architects. The $SGD5.2 billion development covers 49 hectares at the southern end of Singapore. Designed as a collection of resorts within a resort, the architects were challenged to provide an overall composition of buildings, form, and mass that responds well to the existing tropical island setting of Sentosa Island, while meeting the rigorous evaluation process of the Singapore government. MicroStation and Bentley Architecture provided an optimum mix of flexible licensing, quality renderings, and interoperability. The design teams were able to seamlessly interoperate between external consultants, while Bentley’s Enterprise License Subscription allowed the project team to quickly add the number of licensed software needed for the project. Marina Bay Integrated Resorts Competition polshek partnership architects llp and dp architects pte ltd The Marina Bay Integrated Resorts competition was a contested competition for the first of two highly anticipated integrated resorts, which includes a casino and related meeting, incentives, convention, and exhibition space. Four proposals were received for the Marina Bay site at the southern part of Singapore, with each committing to spend between $SGD4 billion to $SGD5 billion to build a world-class resort. Polshek Partnership Architects and DP Architects were chosen and faced the challenge of developing a feasible and winning design in four months with two teams on different continents. MicroStation became the common platform between the two firms and Bentley’s Enterprise License Subscription program provided Bentley’s comprehensive portfolio of integrated solutions without incurring huge capital expenditures as production ramped up.
