Hrdlicka House Sestajovice, Czech Republic Dvorak architekti designed and built a residence with two significant challenges. The site was very narrow and long and the client requested a double-height living room without increasing the volume and cost of the house. Using a MicroStation-centered design methodology, the firm shortened lead-in times, saving approximately 20 percent of the project time. The 3D model enabled tight control of the overall design, the flexibility to react to changing requirements, confidence in the accuracy of the design, as well as the ability to produce a distinctive design, even on a small project, and to communicate effectively with the client and subsequently with contractors and construction workers.
