(BSEE) was designing a manufacturing plant in a new layout to produce a new product line for MeiSteel. By using Bentley’s 3D modeling software, BSEE used precise design data to optimize the plant layout. Bentley’s PlantSpace solutions helped BSEE eliminate the possibility of interference among pipes, pipe supports, construction, and mechanical equipment during the design stage. The team was also able to extract plane construction drawings, ISO drawings, and pipe support drawings directly from 3D models. All equipment 3D designs were integrated into the comprehensive, multidisciplinary model to create a customized 3D component database, establish pipe specifications utilized throughout the firm, and create a series of handbooks and guidelines for 3D design. When Energotechnika-Projekt began designing a new coal boiler house that includes a transportation bridge and de-slagging bridge, the design team deployed AutoPLANT and ProjectWise Navigator technology to customize several tasks. A significant amount of time was saved modeling the structural steel and producing construction documents. These advantages improved overall efficiency, precision, and work quality of the design process.
