BE Magazine - Volume 4, Issue 3 - (Page 20) BE CONFERENCE IN REVIEW People’s Choice Awards 2007 Attendees at BE Conference 2007 vote on their favorite projects from 234 BE Awards of Excellence nominations across 31 categories C ontinuing a long-time BE Conference tradition, the 2007 BE Awards of Excellence gallery at BE Conference 2007 was filled with intriguing snapshots of innovative projects that illustrate what is possible today and what can be achieved tomorrow. But this year’s event offered a new twist—an opportunity for all attendees at the Los Angeles conference to judge the projects nominated for this year’s BE Awards in a second People’s Choice Awards competition. Ballots and ballot boxes were placed throughout the gallery and attendees were invited to vote for a project in each of five categories: building, civil, geospatial, plant, and special. Hundreds of ballots were cast and the five winners were announced during an evening of entertainment for all BE Conference 2007 attendees hosted by Bentley. The winners received free general admission and Bentley LEARN training for up to three individuals at next year’s event. Judged by colleagues in the infrastructure community, who fully appreciate innovative project design and management, the People’s Choice Awards represent prized recognition.
