The textures on the bed sheets suggest a reality that is often missing from fabrics in CGI. A slight ripple applied to the sheets and mattress remove that “just modeled” look that is so often seen. And, of course, I am drawn to the simple color palette. Time and time again, we remark on the elegance of a color palette with just a few different hues. It really does make the parts of an image gel. Thomas Tsai, 3QAM – Table Ray Bentley: Three things stand out for me in this image. One, the depth of ﬁeld with a sharply focused foreground and a nicely out-of-focus background really concentrate the eye. Two, the chrome color and reﬂections are about as real as you can get—it’s far too easy to overcook the reﬂections and lose a sense of reality.
