The 90-minute walking tours are led by trained student guides who are knowledgeable about the Berkeley campus and student life at Cal. No reservations are required for fewer than ten people. Monday through Friday, tours are at 10:00am. Weekday tours leave from the Campus Visitor Center. Saturday (10am) and Sunday (1pm) tours begin from the Campanile in the center of campus. neighborhood architectural walking tours featuring such architects as Bernard Maybeck, Julia Morgan, John Galen Howard and Lilian Bridgman. The tours were often researched and led by a resident of the featured neighborhood. The tours that were given between 1974 and 1986 are in this booklet and they are presented for your own architectural discovery of Berkeley. Booklets are available for purchase at the Berkeley Visitor Information Center or the Berkeley Architectural Heritage Association. Wandering Berkeley’s Paths Berkeley Pathwanderers Association www.berkeleypaths.org Berkeley has some 136 paths, steps and walkways. Paths are maintained by the City’s Department of Public Works and Department of Parks, Recreation. BPWA, a volunteer group of community members, assists by surveying and mapping the paths; scouting out needs for signage and repairs; organizing work groups to maintain and improve paths; and seeking funds for restoring paths and building new ones. If you need help finding them, purchase a Berkeley’s Pathways Map ($5.00) at the Berkeley Visitor Information Center.
