Proper planning prevents poor performance, right? Well then, you need to know that we have been planning for 25 years to welcome you to the 2009 BICSI Winter Conference for our Silver Anniversary celebration. You see, back in 1984, when our BICSI forefathers established the Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) credential, things really started taking shape at BICSI as a growing association. The conferences were a bit smaller back then, but the passion and commitment the BICSI community of old displayed is quite comparable to that of our staff and members now, 25 years later! When I joined BICSI back in 1986, I had just started in business and was in search of a single resource to go to for expanding my knowledge and growing my business. I remember being very excited to finally find a technical home for reference material, professional credentials, great networking and a business reason to go to Orlando every January! Now, 22 years later, I can officially welcome you to Orlando on special assignment as the keynote speaker for what appears to be my biggest challenge to date: entertaining my colleagues for 45 minutes with a celebration of History and Heritage and a look Back to the Future. Please join me on Tuesday, January 20, at 8:30 a.m. as we officially open our conference—it promises to be a spectacular event. We have special plans for enhancing your education and networking experience during our Silver Anniversary BICSI International Conference (SABIC). I could not resist introducing a new acronym!
