2009 BICSI Winter Conference - (Page 4) CECs General Information Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD®) Throughout this announcement, you will notice the RCDD designation mentioned or see it after a participant’s name. RCDD— Registered Communications Distribution Designer—is an elite credential recognized and sought after by private and government contractors and end users. This designation indicates the person has demonstrated knowledge in the design, integration and implementation of information transport systems (voice, data, video, audio and other low-voltage systems) and their related infrastructure components. Smoking The Rosen Shingle Creek Resort is a smoke-free environment. Smoking is permitted in designated areas only. The 2009 BICSI Winter Conference fulfills the conference attendance requirement for RCDD renewal. CECs Awarded All conference attendees will receive the following CECs for each of the credentials that they hold: RCDD 15 NTS Specialty 6 OSP Specialty 4 WD Specialty 4 ITS Installer/Technician 7 All credential holders must check in or register on site by 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, to receive Winter Conference CECs and to fulfill the conference attendance requirement. In addition, the following CECs will be awarded to Specialty credential holders based on the concurrent sessions attended: NTS Specialty up to 4 OSP Specialty up to 2 WD Specialty up to 4 ITS Installer/Technician up to 4 The CEC totals listed above do not include the preconference seminars. The number of CECs awarded for the pre-conference seminars can be found on pages 5 and 6. CECs earned from the Winter Conference and/or pre-conference seminar attendance will appear on your transcript approximately 30 days after the conference. Guest Program The Guest Hospitality Lounge is open to registered guests Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Thursday from 8:30-10 a.m. Continental breakfast is served from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Guest Hospitality Lounge with special morning presentations on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 9 a.m. Registered guests are visitors who are accompanying registered conference attendees and are not in the information transport systems industry. Each attendee is limited to one registered guest. BICSI Community The BICSI Community includes Attendee Registration and Information, BICSI Central, BICSI Cares, BICSI Store and the Wi-Fi Zone. The BICSI Community is open during the following times: n Sun., Jan. 18, from 8 a.m-7 p.m n Mon., Jan. 19, from 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m. n Tues., Jan. 20, from 7:15 a.m.-7 p.m. n Wed., Jan. 21, from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. n Thurs., Jan. 22, from 7:30 a.m.-noon BICSI Cares will close at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 22. BICSI Cares Presentation and Drawing BICSI Cares, Inc. is the charity arm of BICSI, which collects donations at each BICSI conference and gives 100 percent of the contributions to a local children’s charity. The charity presentation will be held on Thursday morning, followed by a door prize drawing. All attendee donations collected during the conference will be given to the Central Florida Miracle League, an organization dedicated to helping children with disabilities build self-worth, overcome boundaries and achieve their dreams by participating in America’s pastime—baseball. Visit the BICSI Cares booth while at the conference for more information and to make a donation. Press Room The press room is open from 8 a.m.5 p.m. Sunday, January 18, through Wednesday, January 21, and from 8 a.m.noon on Thursday, January 22. Attire Most BICSI functions and events are informal. Business casual attire is appropriate. Name Badge You must wear your badge to enter all conference functions. There will be a $20 name badge remake fee on site for each lost badge. 1988 The first BICSI design course is held for ITS professionals.
