Rifles, shotguns and bows are all allowed for those with permits and guide service is available for those unfamiliar with the local hunting areas. Take a guided educational tour of a lava tube. Besides lava tubes to walk through, there are caves along Old Mamalahoa Highway outside Waimea. ¯ Kaumana Caves off Saddle Road near ¯ Hilo is also worth checking out if you like exploring under-worldly things.
