Bloomington is centrally located in the center of the United States and getting here is easy. The Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport (MSP) connects to 800 cities in 120 countries. In addition, major freeways in every direction, make getting here hassle free. Once you’re here, you’ll discover one of the most convenient major metro areas. Walkable downtown areas, plentiful public transportation and free parking make navigating and enjoying Bloomington easy. Train schedules and route maps are located in the Tools section of the site, making it easy to find stop times and locations for each of the 17 stations along the Hiawatha Line (Route 55). Metro Transit Busses The Metro Transit Twin Cities bus system also offers fast and frequent service from the airport to both downtowns, Mall of America and hundreds of other popular attractions throughout the metro area. Tour and shop with unlimited bus rides by purchasing a Day Pass, which allows you to ride as much as you like for 24 hours—for only $6! The cost to ride the LRT is $1.75 during non-rush hours and $2.25 during rush hour. There are special rates for seniors, youth, Medicare card-holders and persons with disabilities. You can purchase tickets for a single ride at the vending machines located on station platforms, or you can purchase a Go To Card. All tickets must be purchased before you board the LRT. Stowaways beware—if you are on board without a ticket you are subject to a $180 fine. 2 Get your ticket. Car Parking is free at Mall of America and at all Bloomington hotels. In most Twin Cities shopping districts and malls, parking is either free or nominal. In most districts within or near the downtown areas, payment for parking meters and ramps is required. TRANSPORTATION The train stops at every station along the Hiawatha Line. The doors on the train are not automatic. When exiting or boarding, wait for the train to stop completely and press the blue button on the doors.
