The annual holiday gift guide event expanded from New York to one held in London. The New York event,at the city’s Tavern on the Green, continued to pick up steam. Year-over-year, attendance by both media and members has increased, but in 2007 attendance was at an all-time high with 19 members participating and 70 reporters in attendance – a 61% increase over the previous year. For the first time ever, the Bluetooth SIG arranged a Holiday Gift Guide event in Europe (London) which turned out a success and even made it to the BBC. Part of the event was the Bluetooth branded Lotus Elise and the Parrot branded 1952 MG TF, equipped with a wide range of automotive applications. Specialized events were also a success in the Asia-Pacific region. The team put together two “Bluetooth Media Cafes” PrESS EvENtS By working with top consumer electronics blog Engadget, the SIG and several members demonstrated Bluetooth products and answered questions from the audience of more THE “Bluetooth MEDIA CAFE” IN TAIPEI GENERATED GREAT INTEREST IN THE BLUETOOTH SIG MEMBER PRODUCTS ON DISPLAY. * After UPF 15, the UPF numbering was adjusted to take into account CAT-3 only events that were not included as full “UPF” events in the past of which there were four.
